I am an experienced teacher of almost 20 years and I currently perform with various artists in the East Midlands area. I am also a successful composer and arranger. Please take a look at my website for more information.

TEACHING

 

 

Currently a 0.6 Head of Music in a school in Coventry . I was also an Ex- Head of Music of an Independent Girls school in Leicester

I am an experienced teacher of over 15 years ranging from 4 to 18 years.  I teach piano, composition, violin and theory.

I am also an experienced classroom practioner and have been considered OUTSTANDING/EXCELLENT based on OFSTED/ ISI and internal reviews and. I specialise in BTEC, A level and GCSE Music (Edexcel and AQA) as well as having an excellent working knowledge of AQA Drama. I have also had full trainig in the new changes in the GCSE Music specification in Edexcel, AQA, OCT and WJEC.

PERFORMANCE

 

I am currently playing violin for experimental jazz ensemble Ka Safar and have several exciting projects in 2019.

 

I am also multi-instrumentalist for Northampton based artist Kenneth J Nash where we have toured the East Mildands festival scene as well as play regularly around the country supporting artists such as Mark Geary, Dodgy, Suzanne Vega to name a few. In addition to this I am working along with others on a new writing project with Kenneth J Nash and open to be releasing material in Autumn 2020.

 

I also perform classical/ jazz piano for functions including weddings and other formal events.

 

I am an ex-foundling member of Leicester based band echolocation and playing regularly in the East Midlands area as well as supporting respected bands such as Public Service Broadcasting, Shonen Knife, Mark Wynn, Murder By Death and Wussy amongst a few.

 

COMPOSITION

 

I compose mainly film scores and am involved in a  new project with Kenneth J Nash and other musicians. I also co-wrote with Leicester based band echolocation and arrange music with several musicians from the Midlands including We All Fall Silent, 40Hertz and Kenneth J Nash.

I am also a music producer for www.popmymind.com where I am commissioned to composer music based on different media forms. I was proud to win September 2016 artist of the month for my piece OTR#2. You will find this piece of music on http://www.popmymind.com/content/778

CONSULTANCY WORK

 

I have also recently taken on some consultancy work advising new Heads of Department and music teachers on development of schemes of works, teaching methods which in turn will lead to more effective teaching at KS4. I also advise clients in using successful tools to completing coursework for music GCSE.

I also advise many parents on instrumental tuition and practice routine development.
